Here you can read more about Morten’s thoughts and ideas about the sand images he has captured through his lens:

Morten’s sand images are a result of pointing the camera down towards Mother Earth, where the sea meets land. At this intersection of nature and elements, he seeks to capture the uniqueness of the moment and preserve it forever through his photographs. Nature is full of endless motifs that form spontaneously, and it is precisely these moments that he wants to capture and share with you.

Grain of sand
Each grain of sand carries its own weight and colour palette, and through their unique shapes, structures and shades, he wants to take the viewer on a journey into a reality of his own. In this abstract world, opportunities open up for perceiving dimensions that our eyes cannot usually grasp.

His sand photo convey a sense of spontaneity and freedom, which allows for individual interpretations. Each viewer can find their own unique meaning and interpretation in the images, and it is precisely this interaction between the artwork and the viewer that makes abstract art so exciting and enriching.

The wave serves as Morten’s brush in this creative workshop. Sometimes the wave carries more power, and other times it is more restrained. This creates different expressions in his pictures. Morten prefers to work in the morning, as the structure and depth of the sand are emphasized, and the warm light creates different moods in the images.

Miniature Landscape
A sandy beach is a miniature landscape where Morten’s pictures take shape, and they can never be recreated in the same way. The sand grains are continuously carried on with the waves, while new grains of sand are added. This is happening in the present, in the moment. It is a reminder to all of us to live more in the moment, to be present and discover the beauty that exists around us.

The photos are not manipulated. They are numbered and signed in one edition of 30 pieces. The pictures are printed on coarse watercolour paper (350 g).
